NORTHEAST BRACES ITSELF FOR STORM

?It seems like only yesterday, that we were recovering from super storm Hurricane Sandy.? And if that was not enough for the North East, we are now faced with a massive snow storm on the way, which started as I was getting out of work last night around 4:45pm at least in Nassau County.? The storm has hit the entire North East.

Living with Cerebral Palsy is very difficult, especially when you live in the North East.? I already know that this storm is not going too be good and I do not need a weather man to tell me this.? My muscles tighten in cold weather almost squashing me.? But I live with the pain, the humidity down south is no good either, I need dry heat.? So this is just the pre-storm tonight and I am already tightening up.? I just don?t know how I will deal with Saturday.

This storm is very serious business.? I herd my County Executive Edward P. Mangano issuing warnings and Governor Deval Patrick (D-M.A.) made an ordered declaring all vehicles be off the road.? The state of Maine has gotten international extra help, Canadian clean up crews are already in Maine.? There will be massive flooding along the East Coast. From what I hear all flights leaving the East Coast have been grounded as a precaution.

But I do have some good news and a bright spot.? This is actually good for the economy depending on which sector you are in.? If you are in travel and leisure, ski resorts may do well, although I do not see many people getting in their car on Long Island and heading to the Pocono?s or upstate for a two day weekend.? If this was a three day weekend it would be better.? Companies that make shovels, salt that deices walks ways will do very good, look for Poland Spring to do well with bottle water sales.

As for me, Long Islanders can expect 14-18 inches along with major flooding.? This is in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, and I fear for my fellow Long Islanders in Long Beach, the city did not do well in Hurricane Sandy, their famed boardwalk was demolished but to Sandy.?
